Following the Indian success of the Realmi X smartphone, it looks like these smartphones will someday bring the Xiaomi Redmi line of smartphones.
Realme the company that launched the smartphone under the budget category, today launched its Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro smartphones in India.
As for pricing, the Realme 5 smartphone with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of content storage is priced at Rs. 11,999. Realme 5 is available in two colors, Crystal Blue and Crystal Purple.
The 4GB + 64GB model of the Realme 5 Pro smartphone on the other hand has been announced for Rs. 13,999 / -. Its 6GB + 64GB and 8GB + 128GB models will be available for Rs 14,999 / - and Rs 16,999 / - respectively.
The RealMe 5 Pro comes in two color options, Crystal Green and Sparkling Blue.
Both Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro will go on sale via Flipkart and Realme.com The first sale of the Realme 5 Pro will go on sale on September 4 and the Realme 5 smartphone will go on sale on August 27th.
Both Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro come with the new 'Crystal Design'. They come with 3D curved glossy plastic rear panels with triangular new diamond-cut design.
Both smartphones have a splash-resistant design. The Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro smartphones have a USB quad camera system on its rear.
Rear camera:
As for the Realme 5 Pro, it has a 48-megapixel Sony IMX 586 sensor + 8-megapixel 119-degree ultra-wide-angle camera + 2-megapixel macro lens + 2-megapixel depth sensor.
Selfie Camera:
On the front, it features a 16-megapixel sized selfie camera with HDR and AI beautification. Its main camera features features like Nightscape, ChromaBoost and HDR.
Video Support:
The rear and front cameras of the Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro smartphones receive EIS support, which provides some stabilisation when recording videos.
Features of Realme 5 Pro:
It features a 6.3-inch FHD + Minitrap display with 450 Nits Brightness and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 712 chipset under a 10nm process.
It is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of content storage. It has three card slots that can support two nano SIM cards and a microSD card (up to 256GB).
Operating System and Battery:
The Realme 5 Pro features a 4035mAh battery. It comes with a 20W Fast Charger with VOOC 3.0 Fast Charging support. Powered by AndroidOS Pie-based ColorOS 6, the smartphone measures 157x74.2x8.9mm and weighs 184 grams.
Features of Realme 5:
The quad camera layout of the Realme 5 smartphone is slightly different from the Pro model. It has a 12 megapixel (f / 1.8) camera instead of a 48 MB camera. The remaining three cameras are the same. That means there is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and two 2-megapixel sensors.
Selfie Camera:
The rear camera supports modes such as Nightscape, Chroma Boost and HDR. As for the front, there is a 13-megapixel selfie camera with HDR and AI beautification.
Display:
The Realme 5 features a 6.5-inch HD + Minitrap display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The smartphone is also equipped with a rear-facing fingerprint sensor with base unlock support.
It is powered by the new 2.0Ghz Octagore Snapdragon 665 AIE chipset under the 11nm process. It is the first smartphone in India to be powered by the SD665 SoC. The Realmi 5 has three card slots, including a microSD card (up to 256GB) with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of content storage.
Another great feature of the Realme 5 smartphone is that it is powered by a large 5,000mAh battery. It runs on Android POS based ColorOS 6. The measurement measures 164.4x75.6x9.3 mm and weighs 198 grams.
